For me, the “place for life” is about achieving balance in my community, so I know my children can enjoy the same level of opportunity, connection to nature and access to wellness strategies that I did when I was young. I grew up on the West Coast with a forest in my back yard, water in my front yard and easy access to recreation facilities. Making Windsor/Essex the “Place for life” means realizing we are blessed with access to nature, ensuring we conserve our important ecosystems, educating people, providing safe access and contributing to a long-term legacy for the future. Every time I ride my bike down the Essex Region Conservation Greenway trails in our community, I feel connected to nature and I feel good.

“Winter, spring, summer, and fall, I venture outside, sometimes alone, often with loved ones, and always grateful for, and moved by, the beauty of our ‘Place for Life’”.
